Why don’t you wear shoes?

A man came to a city. He noticed that no one in the city wore shoes. Everyone was barefoot.

One day, the man decided to ask one of the residents there why they didn’t wear shoes.

“I’m sorry, but do you know about shoes?” The man asked one of the residents of the city.

“Yes, of course.” answered the man.

“Then, do you know the use of shoes for your feet?”

“Of course.” answered the man.

“Then why don’t you wear shoes?” asked the man once more in confusion.

“Ah… that question…” said the man “Why don’t we wear shoes? Why don’t we wear shoes?”

The next day after breakfast the man walked on the snowy road. Despite the snowy streets, everyone he met on the streets was barefoot. So he asked another man about it and explained that shoes would protect his feet from the cold.

The man said, “We know about shoes. You see the building there? It is a shoe factory. We are very proud of the building and every week we gather there to hear the man in charge of the factory to tell us everything about shoes and about how extraordinary those shoes are. ”

“Then why don’t you wear shoes?”

“Ah … that question again.” said the man.

Don’t we also believe in prayer? Don’t we know the meaning of prayer in our lives? Then why don’t we pray? Ah … that question … Why don’t we pray?

Prayer is an extraordinary power available for our lives. How important is prayer for our lives? We must not neglect the importance of prayer in our lives, because prayer can change everything in our lives.

Don’t just pray if you feel like it. Make a covenant with God and keep the promise. Someone will be full of power while he is kneeling (Corrie Ten Boom)

I will pray for you

How important is faithfulness in prayer? Dr. Wilbur Chapman often told of his experiences when, as a young man, he went to become a pastor in a church in Philadelphia.

After his first sermon, an old man said to him, “You are too young to be a pastor in this church. But you are preaching the Gospel, and I will help you as long as I can.” Dr. Chapman thought, “Now, this is a trap.” But the man said, “I will pray for you so that you have the power of the Holy Spirit. Two other people have agreed to join me to pray for you.”

Dr. Chapman said, “I felt nothing when he said that he would pray for me. But then three people become 10 people, 10 people become 20 people, and 20 people become 50 people, 50 people become 200 people. They gathered before each service – and prayed that the Holy Spirit would come to me. I always climbed onstage feeling that I would have anointing as an answer to the prayers of those who had faithfully prayed for me. What a joy to preach! The result was that 1,100 people repented and joined our church, 600 of whom were men! This is the fruit of the Holy Spirit in answer to prayer!”

God gives us the task to pray for spiritual leaders and servants of God. Have we ever realized that our prayers for their ministry could result in the repentance of souls? Let us continue to persevere and support in prayer for spiritual leaders and servants of God and souls will be harvested for God’s glory.

God shaped the world from prayer. The more prayers in the world the better this world, the stronger the power to oppose the evil one. (E. M. Bounds)

Revival in the Valley of Dry Bones – Alternative View – November 20

Revival in the Valley of Dry Bones

Scripture Readings: Ezekiel 37

Spiritual collapse places us in the “Valley of Dry Bones,” a situation in which we experience hopelessness and helplessness. God, however, has provided a way out.

We must be willing to listen to the Word of God. When in a “dry place,” a place of no hope and no apparent answer to life’s dilemmas, we must accept God’s Word that begins the process of deliverance from disorder.

We must be willing to respond in obedience to the Word of God. It is our willingness to act on what is spoken by God that continues this deliverance from our “dry bones” state of existence.

We must be sensitive to the movement of God’s Spirit. God’s Word gives us order, but the Spirit gives life. The Holy Spirit provides the power to bring the truth of God’s Word to fruition.

When we hear of despairing situations in our nation, state, city and personal lives, are we listening to the prophetic Word of God, or do we have our own agendas?

Once we connect the Word of Truth with God’s Spirit, we can be delivered out of our hopeless situation and experience revival.
